Common questions

What do the results mean?

• invalid Will bounce: broken format, the domain does not exist, or it accepts no email.
• risky Throwaway domain, likely typo, no proper mail server, or unusual characters.
• unconfirmed Format and domain are fine, but the mailbox itself has not been checked.

Why not "valid"?

Only a mailbox check, which talks to the receiving mail server, can say an address exists. The free check does not do that, so we never call an address "valid". For a mailbox check, use the Bouncer button on your results.

Is my list uploaded?

No. The check runs in your browser. Only domain names are looked up, through Cloudflare's public DNS. See the Privacy Policy.

Is there a limit?

The website checks up to 20,000 emails at a time. For bigger lists, split the file.

How do I remove the Google Sheets add-on?

In Google Sheets, open Extensions → Add-ons → Manage add-ons, find BounceLens and choose Uninstall.
